Portland Housing Authority has published a project website for its COMB Block project, which would be a multi-phase, multi-building redevelopment of the land it owns between Cumberland, Oxford, Mayo, and Boyd (COMB for short).
The first building is going for planning approval this spring; it would build 50 homes on the corner of Oxford and Boyd, right across the street from the AIA New England Citation Award-winning Bayside Anchor building designed by Kaplan-Thompson Architects:
The building sits on a hillside, so it would be 6 stories tall on Oxford Street and 5 stories tall from the rear courtyard on the inside of the block:
